Oscar bids farewell to ‘special fans’ at a ‘special club’ like Chelsea

An Instagram farewell.

Oscar is on his way to China, joining Chinese Super League contenders Shanghai SIPG on January 1st as he blazes a brave new trail in world football as the first big-name, big-money player to move to China in the prime of his career.

Having spent the past 4.5-seasons in West London, he’s made sure to thank all the fans, the owner, and everyone else involved with a ‘special’ club like Chelsea via his Instagram account.

There are no less than five mentions of the word ‘special’ in that caption!

“I want to thank @chelseafc the owner and all the employees who have made my time at the club so special. A very special thank you to the Chelsea fans you guys a very special and I am honoured to have been a part of your club we have won some special titles together the UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE, the LEAGUE CUP and of course PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS !!!! You will always have a special place in my heart ”

Fare thee well, young Oscar. Many hand-hearts to you, too.

Here’s Chelsea’s excellent, bittersweet goodbye video as well:

Thank you, Oscar and best of luck for the future.
