Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez has revealed that, due to his lack of playing time at the club, he is considering multiple transfer offers for January.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have been literally unbeatable for a good while, stretching their already club-record run to 37 games without defeat following a 4-2 extra time victory in the final of the Club World Cup, but more often than not, James has found himself on the outskirts of the team. The 25-year-old has only started 4 of Los Merengues’ 15 games in La Liga.
“I’m happy here, but I want to play more. I want to stay at Madrid forever, but you have to think about everything and look at your options.”
“I have offers and I've got seven days to think about it.”
Playing for Real Madrid is a dream for players all over the world, and clearly James still holds the Spanish giants in high regard, but sitting on the bench is not his idea of a good time. According to our friends at Managing Madrid, James’s comments were a surprise to the club as well.
The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Inter Milan have been linked with James in the past, and will no doubt be heavily linked once again thanks to this latest interview. There was already at least one report from the Mirror that Chelsea were “plotting” a £75m bid for the Colombian, matching Real’s asking price.
There is probably no rush with those kinds of figures being thrown around, however, the Oscar’s impending departure will have Chelsea and Antonio Conte thinking about squad additions and Rodriguez would fit the bill.
