Hiddink: Pato deal is just waiting on the paperwork

We've somehow been talking about the impending Alexandre Pato transfer for weeks now, despite the player in question having not featured in European football since the beginning of the 2012-13 season and being so injury prone that he probably only passed his medical thanks to some sort of negative overflow error. This is the sort of transfer fun you get when you're in 13th place at the end of January, I suppose. But anyway, here's another update, this time from interim manager Guus Hiddink himself:

As far as I know, this is the first time a Chelsea representative has confirmed that Pato is happening, which means 'there's still paperwork left' constitutes news in this barren desert of a winter window. If Hiddink's talking about it, the paperwork can't be particularly serious, and in all honesty a six-month loan move for minimal wages for a backup forward doesn't matter a great deal anyway.

But it'll eventually happen, based on this evidence. Hurray?
