Fiorentina upset by Mohamed Salah's arrival in Rome

Fiorentina aren't going to let the Mohamed Salah saga die. At this point, it's clear that the player isn't going to be returning to Florence as a member of the Viola, yet the Italian club continue to make life difficult for Salah, Chelsea, and Roma by bringing the Egyptian up any time they get the chance.

The latest comments came after Fiorentina defeated Barcelona 2-1 on Sunday, and Andrea Della Valle had the chance to speak to the press about Salah's arrival in Rome. Here's what he had to say on the matter:

"It wasn't a nice thing to see Salah arrive in Rome. He's not been presented officially, even if he effectively has been. Maybe Roma could have avoided all of this. Solicitors are working on the issue -- ours, his and Chelsea's. We're trying to ensure a contract is respected, and then we'll see. We don't like arguing with anybody and we haven't said either 'yes' or 'no' to Salah joining Roma, but it's a very delicate subject and I can't say too much about it."

"They may be convinced about it in other cities, but all we say is that we've got a contract in our hands. If they're happy, let them be happy. The player left here convinced by his agent and I'm the first to be disappointed by the way this whole issue has evolved. When Salah arrived here, he was practically unknown. But I've got to think about the future now and open up a new cycle."

Frankly, this is getting tiring. We know by now that Fiorentina believe they have a contract with the player, and that no other parties agree (Salah is already training with Roma). It would be awfully nice if the Viola would just start their 'new cycle' by accepting that they did well with half of a season of Salah and a substantial transfer fee for Juan Cuadrado, in addition to the friendly that the two sides will be playing on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

At this point, I really don't care where Mohamed Salah plays next season, I'd just like to see his association with Chelsea come to an end as quickly as possible, so I can stop being annoyed by anything happening in Florence. So please, Chelsea, whatever you do, don't loan Fiorentina another player to help quiet them down. Play the friendly on Wednesday, and be done with them*.

*You should still read Viola Nation, though, as they're awesome, even if Fiorentina aren't
