In yesterday's press conference, José Mourinho said he expected Chelsea to bring a "couple more players" this season to add to the first-team squad. One of these moves now seems to have been sorted out.

Stefan Reuter: "We didn't want to sell Baba, but for the fee Chelsea have paid, we were in no position to reject the offer." #dwbundesliga

Stefan Reuter is Augsburg's general manager, and his direct quotes indicate that Baba Rahman is almost certainly a Chelsea player. Having reportedly passed his medical on Friday, we should hear an official announcement from Chelsea and Augsburg regarding his transfer soon. His transfer fee is believed to be initially €20 million, with the potential to reach €30-35 million with add-ons and bonuses.
The transfer fee as a whole might sound like a bit too much for an "unproven" player but if Rahman doesn't pan out, €20 million doesn't sound like too hefty fee a in today's bloated market.
