FC Augsburg want more than just money in the Baba Rahman to Chelsea deal, According to German newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine. The German paper is reporting that the Bundesliga club would like to bring preseason hero Marko Marin back to Germany, as part of the agreement to send their most valuable asset to London.
Augsburg's interest in Marin is likely due in part to Piotr Trochowski's injury early in the season, creating a void that the German side need to fill. Marin, however, is also quite injury prone, as any Chelsea fan can attest.
Marin never managed to establish himself as a Chelsea player despite his marvelous friendly form. His contract with Chelsea runs out in 2017 and while the report doesn't make clear whether his switch to Augsburg would be on a loan deal or a permanent transfer, it is safe to say that Marin's journey with the Blues is coming to an end after spending three years abroad with different clubs on loan -- and ultimately failing to meet expectations.
As a solace, we still have The Legend of Marko to be remembered.
