On Monday, several outlets reported on Baba Rahman's potential transfer fee and wages, following the completion of his Chelsea transfer. On Tiesday, it seems that we more confirmation that a deal is, in fact, very close, as the London Evening Standard is reporting that the player is in London to undergo a medical. Rahman was fit enough to play for Augsburg in a German Cup match last Friday, so the chances of him failing a medical are slim to none.
Most of us are wary of his total costs but we could point out that Chelsea's expected revenue -- especially from TV and advertising -- will continue to increase over the next several years, and the Blues can certainly accommodate young players on higher-than-average wages, such as Rahman and potentially John Stones. Chelsea have been "shy" in this transfer window when compared to other top clubs, but Rahman would appear to be a great fit in both the short and long term.
