I think Bosnian goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has been linked to Chelsea for at least half a decade now, and it seems as though the time to consummate our long-standing flirtation is finally at hand. The Telegraph claim that Begovic's move from Stoke will be completed in the coming week, certainly in time for him to come on our pre-season tour with us.
Money, apparently, has already been worked out. The Blues have upped their bid from £6 million to £8 million, which Stoke are fine with, and the reports that personal terms had been agreed between Chelsea and Begovic are already weeks old. The holdup, then, is this:
Sources at Stoke admit "there is a deal to be done" and the only delay has been over Chelsea deciding which player to loan out as part of the deal.
Victor Moses is the obvious choice, but I suppose there are others available. In any case it doesn't seem like an insurmountable sticking point. Welcome, Asmir?
