Mourinho confirms Luis departure; Augsburg try to raise price for his replacement

José Mourinho had a very busy (and quite miffed) evening, but he had time to brief everyone on the left back situation. The manager confirmed that Filipe Luis' move to Atlético Madrid is practically done, while offering praise for his starter.

We sold Filipe [Luis]. We have the best left-back in England - [César] Azpilicueta.

Meanwhile, German newspaper Bild are reporting that Augsburg chairman Klaus Hoffman has claimed that Augsburg do not need the money made from a possible Baba Rahman transfer.

We do not need the Baba [Rahman] millions. We have a good, solid team here.

Hoffman also said he puts his team performances ahead of their budget -- being the reason why he wants to keep the left-back in the club.

I am an Augsburg fan. To me, it is more important that I spend the evening watching Augsburg win with a beer in my hand than when we have more money in the bank account. No need to call with an offer below €20 million.

Instead of a "hands-off" warning, it seems that Augsburg's chairman is trying to push Baba Rahman's price up. And given Chelsea's need for a new fullback -- Azpilicueta had to toil on his own for the full 90 minutes last night -- his strategy might work.
