Sampdoria president is trying to sign Kurt Zouma away from Chelsea

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is certainly an interesting guy. He's been very clear about his desire to make Sampdoria a very physical side going forward, and believes that his tranquil environment could bring the sane out of Mario Balotelli.

On Wednesday, Ferrero talked about his managerial hunt, and several physical targets that he's currently interested in. Among those was Chelsea's Kurt Zouma:

"I spoke to Jurgen Klopp, Roberto Di Matteo, Unai Emery and Maurizio Sarri. They explained that they wanted to play great football, but I have a physical side and want the people Zenga talked to me about."

"I chose Zenga because he wanted to come back to Italy and already knows the Sampdoria environment. I already signed Moisander from Ajax and I am trying to get Zouma, because they are very physical players."

This is about how I'd imagine the conversation went:

Ferrero: I'm interested in Kurt Zouma, because I understand he's a physical player.

Chelsea: Click. Dial-tone.

I suppose this is the point when someone from Chelsea ought to call Ferrero back and explain to him what the dial-tone is, as he's probably still negotiating a deal with it.
