Petr Cech sold to Arsenal - report

It's not official yet, but the Mail is reporting that Petr Cech's move to Arsenal is now complete, with the Gunners paying £11 million to take the 33-year-old to the Emirates. The rumours that this was about to happen have been intensifying over the past week, so there's no much reason to distrust the Mail here. That said, we're still waiting on confirmation from one of the two clubs.

To be honest, this move doesn't feel great. Petr Cech is one of the four best goalkeepers currently in England, and neither of Arsenal's current duo is anything like competent. Yes, he's out of contract at the end of next season, but handing the Gunners a premier goalkeeper for £11 million seems like a suboptimal move, even if they didn't finish particularly close to us last season. Rumour has it that Cech knew where he wanted to go and Chelsea did him a favour by selling to a rival. If so, fair play to all involved.

I don't want to say goodbye yet, but it sounds like it's coming very soon.
