According to reports in England this morning, one of Chelsea's army of young talent on loan is already close to finding a home for next season. Christian Atsu didn't have a great season with Everton, but despite that, Sky Sports are reporting that he's close to joining newly promoted AFC Bournemouth for the 2015/16 season.
Despite an impressive 2013/14 season at Vitesse Arnhem and decent showings for the Ghana national team, Atsu managed just 366 total minutes during his stay at Everton. The bulk of those minutes came during the Europa League as well, with the player making just two starts domestically, to go along with four substitute appearances.
While the player struggled to get minutes in Roberto Martinez's system, I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't get serious minutes at a newly promoted side like Bournemouth. Atsu is entering the third season of his five-year deal with Chelsea, so showcasing what he can do is probably best for all parties involved, as it looks extremely unlikely at this point that he'll ever feature for Jose Mourinho's squad.
