Chelsea have had the luxury of two word class goalkeepers this season, but that's always been something that most believed would come to an end this coming summer. Sure enough, current backup Petr Cech doesn't believe the situation will last, and expects a change when the transfer window opens:
"I don't know what the club's idea will be. It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut as a duo, but that can work for one season only. I don't want another one like this."
"There always will be speculation, I leave it for the summer. It will be important to sit down with the club, with the manager, to consider all the pros and cons. We will see what will work out the best."
He was also asked specifically about Real Madrid:
"When a specific offer comes I will consider it. There are offers one cannot turn down"
Personally, I'd love to see Cech wind up at a top club overseas, as opposed to a domestic rival. The player has certainly done enough that I wouldn't stand in his way, though, even if that meant watching the Chelsea legend suit up for Arsenal or Liverpool.
Let's just cross our fingers and hope it never comes to that.
