Branislav Ivanovic linked with Bayern Munich switch

It's the international break, so there's less football news than usual to report about. It didn't take Bild long to come up with something utterly ridiculous to write about, however, linking Chelsea's ever-present Branislav Ivanovic with a move to Bayern Munich.

To be fair, Ivanovic is only under contract for one more season following this one, so it's probably about time for his name to be attached to moves to other big spending clubs, even if there's nothing of substance to those rumors. Ivanovic has also talked in the past about believing he's best suited to a more central role, so maybe he's genuinely curious about how he'd do as a central midfielder in Pep's 0-10-0 system.

That said, the Serbian fullback has been one of Jose Mourinho's most trusted players since he took over at Stamford Bridge, and it's hard to imagine that the manager would sanction his departure for anything short of a massive fee. Unless Ivanovic is fed up with the way things are going at Stamford Bridge (writing that made me laugh, btw), there seems no reason to believe he won't be back at Chelsea next season, and regularly patrolling the right side.
