Lewis Baker's return to Chelsea didn't last long. The club has announced that the young midfielder is once again set to head out on loan, this time to League One side MK Dons. That's a step down from the Championship, where he spent a month at Sheffield Wednesday before being recalled, but MK have been pretty good to our loanees, and if he can get regular minutes that sounds like a pretty good fit to me.
If Milton Keynes wanted Baker, that probably means they see him as an important part of a promotion push, which is an obvious benefit of him landing there. Winning is important in player development, and pushing loanees into high-pressure situations, while risky, is good for them. Hopefully Baker can play a big role as MK try to make it to the Championship -- it'll be interesting to follow their progress over the rest of the season.
