On Sunday, we heard reports from Serbia suggesting that 18-year old Danilo Pantic was about to sign with Chelsea and then head to Vitesse Arnhem on loan. Peter McVitie has some quotes from the youngster that seem to confirm that the move is coming soon:
18-year-old Danilo Pantic looks likely to join Chelsea and from there he will spend time at Vitesse, which he says he is excited about.— Peter McVitie (@PeterMcVitie) January 19, 2015
Pantic: "At 18 you can hardly have a chance with Chelsea, where they play experienced and already proven stars of world football."— Peter McVitie (@PeterMcVitie) January 19, 2015
Pantic: So I like the idea of playing with Vitesse very much. I think that the Dutch league is ideal for a young player to acquire habits...— Peter McVitie (@PeterMcVitie) January 19, 2015
Pantic: ...of Western notions of professionalism and develop properly. In the Netherlands, the game is open and it will suit me.— Peter McVitie (@PeterMcVitie) January 19, 2015
It's interesting to hear Pantic speak about his short term future, as many fans often wonder what these players think of the situation when agreeing to sign for Chelsea. I's expect some sort of confirmation from one of the clubs involved in the not too distant future.
