After Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid on Sunday evening, Lionel Messi had some strong words concerning the rampant speculation that Messi wanted to leave the Catalan club. At Monday's Ballon d'Or ceremony, Messi proceeded to reignite those rumors with the following comment:

"I'm not sure what's going to happen, whether I'd go to Newell's. I don't know where I will be next year. I've always said I want to end my career at Barcelona, but as Cristiano [Ronaldo] just said, nobody knows what the future holds."
