According to Dolce Sport, Chelsea have a deal in place to sign fullback/center back Cristian Manea once the January transfer window opens. According to the paper, Manea would then be loaned out to either Vitesse Arnhem or Mallorca, where he would spend the remainder of the 2014/15 season.

Manea made news when he became the youngest player ever capped for the Romanian national team. His first international appearance came after just five games at the senior club level, but by all reports, he was very impressive.

Manea stands 6' (183 cm) tall, and is known for being equally adept in both attack and defense. He's pacy and athletic, and has been deployed at center back in addition to his preferred position on the right. Quite a few teams throughout Europe have been rumored to have interest, so an early move by Chelsea at the rumored 3 million Euro fee could turn into a very wise investment down the line. Then again, it might turn into money flushed down the drain as well, you can never really tell with kids that age.
