Done deal, Marco van Ginkel joins AC Milan

Dean Mouhtaropoulos

Marco van Ginkel is joining AC Milan on loan, and the club's Instagram feed has photographic evidence to prove it. Van Ginkel will be the second Chelsea player loaned to the Italian side this week, joining Fernando Torres at the San Siro.

The specifics of the agreement are not yet available, but it's painfully clear that the Dutch midfielder will be honing his skills in Serie A this season. Hopefully it goes well, and the player comes b ack next season ready to challenge for a starting place in Jose Mourinho's squad.

This loan would have seemed less likely if the player wasn't still regaining his footing after a very serious knee injury that cost him most of the 2013/14 season, but the injury did happen, and the player still has a way to go before he's 100% recovered. Here's hoping he stays healthy this season and shows why Chelsea were after him in the first place.
