Arsenal now out on Loic Remy, according to reports

Julian Finney

Yesterday there were reports in the media that Arsenal had decided to rival Chelsea for the signature of Loic Remy. After all, the player has a relatively reasonable release clause, likely wants to get away from Harry Redknapp and QPR, and would be at least as good an option at center forward as anyone they currently have.

Unsurprisingly, it doesn't look like that interest is going to tempt Remy to join, as David Ornstein of the BBC is reporting on Sunday:

The idea that Arsenal were going to steal away a Chelsea target was always a little laughable. The purse strings in North London aren't quite as tight as they used to be, but old habits die hard, and Arsene Wenger still won't overpay even if it means leaving massive holes in the current squad. Sorry, Arsenal fans...maybe Yaya Sanogo will start scoring for you sometime soon.
