According to The Daily Mail, Middlesbrough are closing in on a loan deal for a second Chelsea youngster. Kenneth Omeruo is already set to spend the season with the Championship club, and it sounds as if midfielder George Saville might be joining him as well.
As a destination, Boro seems quite appropriate. The club needs more depth in the deeper areas of the midfield, which happens to be precisely what Saville would provide. After a successful spell in League One last season, a move to the Championship would also seem like an appropriate move for Saville. Combined with the excellent relationship that Chelsea seem to be forming with Boro, this looks like about as perfect a match as any of the three parties could ask for.
Saville is entering the final year of his Chelsea deal, so even if his future doesn't lie with the Blues (and it probably does not), this will be a great chance for the player to audition against quality competition before making a big decision on his future next summer.
