Chelsea announce that they've agreed to sell David Luiz to PSG

Just like that, David Luiz is no longer a Chelsea player

Chelsea FC have just confirmed that they've agreed to let David Luiz join PSG, leaving the Blues after 3 1/2 seasons in England. The move is subject to Luiz agreeing to a contract with the French club, and passing a medical exam.

As per usual, the club didn't release the exact figures involved, but it looks as if it's a fairly mouth-watering sum. Chelsea would be worse on the pitch if the season started tomorrow, but they'll now have a rather insane amount to invest as they look to prepare for the start of the new season.

How the club reinvests that money will go a long way toward shaping opinion on the deal. Should they manage to buy a new first choice midfielder, striker, and some more up and coming young talent, this move could be yet another in a series of excellent moves. Should they take a page out of Arsene Wenger's book and simply hide the money under the pillow, this will likely be one of the least popular moves in recent memory.

Regardless, Chelsea just lost a very good, and very likable player.Hopefully he enjoys his time in Paris.
