Atletico Madrid managed a 1-1 draw today against FC Barcelona, and that result clinched the La Liga title for Diego Simeone's men. It wasn't all roses and sunshine for the newly-crowned champions though, as center forward Diego Costa re-injured his hamstring and was forced off the pitch after just fifteen minutes.
While this doesn't directly affect Chelsea, Costa has long been rumored to be on his way to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window. Having a bad hamstring and a national team likely to push him to be ready for the upcoming World Cup is certainly a concern, as aggravating the injury over the summer could easily impact the start of the 2014/15 campaign.
I'm sure Chelsea fans everywhere will be hoping to see Costa shut down for the season, and to see the Spanish national team also take no risks with the center forward as well. While the former seems like it will probably happen at this point, the latter would be a major surprise.
