Matic seeking Premier League move, according to Portuguese media

The player's agent has confirmed that the big midfielder would like to return to England, three seasons after leaving Chelsea

Manuel Queimadelos Alonso

Inter Milan have supposedly set a deadline for teams interested in signing Fredy Guarin and Xabi Alonso just extended his Real Madrid contract, but there now appears to be a little movement on Chelsea's other rumored midfield target. According Goncalo Lopes of Diário de Notícias, Nemanja Matic has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.

We've touched on Benfica's financial situation before, and if the player is looking for a January transfer, there will almost certainly be enough interest between Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City to see a move completed. He'll likely be an expensive buy for whomever acquires his services, but his age and skill level will likely see that investment repaid over quite a few years.

Benfica host Porto this weekend, after which we'll likely hear considerably more on Matic.
