Essien thanks Mourinho and Abramovich, while speaking about joining AC Milan

Clarence Seedorf seems to be a big reason why Essien agreed to the move, so hopefully he sees plenty of time on the pitch

Michael Essien has landed in Milan, and just the medical and paperwork need to be completed before he's officially an ex-Chelsea player. While the medical is no guarantee given Essien's injury history, Essien is already talking about his decision to join Milan:

"I can't wait to play for Milan, Kaka and Balotelli are great players."

"I joined Milan because of Seedorf. I spoke with him two days ago. Seedorf is a great man and I hope that he will also become a great manager. I'm happy to be at Milan. They're a great club. l will do my best for them."

"I want to thank Roman Abramovich, the squad and Mourinho, who gave me the chance to join Milan."

-London Evening Standard

It's good to hear that Essien is already talking about his positive relationship with Clarence Seedorf, as I'd assume that's a good sign that he's the sort of player that the manager felt he needed. It will be nice to see him on the pitch regularly again, even if his new club are mostly playing out a lost season.

While I have little doubt that Essien will be fairly happy with the city of Milan, It wouldn't upset me if he decided to talk up London, Abramovich, the Chelsea squad, and Mourinho every time Mario Balotelli is hanging around. Get on that, agent Essien.
