More news of potential Chelsea departures is making the rounds today, this time involving center forward Demba Ba. The Blues had supposedly agreed to a deal to send the Senegalese striker to Trabzonspor, according to the club's chairman:
‘We had agreed terms with Demba Ba. However, following Fernando Torres’ injury, Mourinho made it clear that they didn’t want to let go of Ba just yet. Despite this we are still interested in Ba.’
This report claims that Chelsea were ready to let the player depart for a sum of £7 million, which would be a decent bit of business for the third choice striker. This is also probably a good indication that Chelsea are interested in adding a striker this month, as going the rest of the season with just Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto'o seems like a very poor idea.
