After spending the entire 2012/13 season on loan in Spain, Jhon Pirez and Chelsea have decided that it would be best for the player to do it all over again. The club announced today that he'll be returning to the Spanish third division side for the entire 2013/14 season.
The 6'2" striker made 10 appearances for Leganes last season, and managed to find the back of the net twice in that time. His performances in general were pretty solid, despite the lack of a real strong goal scoring return. He had some trouble staying healthy though, and we were well into February before Pirez actually debuted for the club.
Hopefully he'll better that total this season, but more importantly, let's hope he can stay healthy from this point forward. Even if the player doesn't have a future at Chelsea, it would be nice to see him make a decent living for himself putting balls into the net.
