It's been a few days since we had any sort of word about Jeffrey Bruma, which got me wondering what exactly was going on with the Dutch defender's medical condition. Der Telegraaph has been on the lookout for news though, and had the following to say on the ongoing evaluations (via Google Translate):
After the doctors of PSV in the medical testing a heart defect observed in the central defender has been extensive consultation between various doctors, including that of his former club Chelsea. Bruma is expected to get the green light today or tomorrow.
That's excellent news, as it appears the issue isn't anything serious enough to disrupt his playing career. After the Fabrice Muamba scare last season, it's unlikely he'd have gotten that clearance if doctors felt this was anything life threatening.
After a rough few seasons in the Bundesliga in which Bruma never really nailed down a regular starting place, I'm sure he'll be thrilled to get established in the Eredivisie as soon as humanly possible. I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing Bruma the best at PSV, both in terms of health and success on the pitch.
