Fernando Torres asked about Barcelona rumors, says he's happy at Chelsea

The Spaniard was asked about Barcelona's interest today, and evaded the questions in much the same way that most of his shots evade the target.

There has been lot's of talk about Fernando Torres to Barcelona lately, with the Catalan club supposedly interested in adding an assured 20-25 goals per season to a squad that currently has Lionel Messi, Neymar, David Villa, Alexis Sanchez, and others. I'm not sure exactly how one comes to the conclusion that Fernando Torres is that guy, but what the heck do I know anyway?

Regardless, El Nino was asked about the rumor this morning, and managed to answer the question without actually saying anything:

I'm sure the media will run with all sorts of stories due to this, but the reality is that there really isn't much to conclude here. Torres seems happy enough at Chelsea (and with his paycheck, it's hard to blame him), and he'd likely continue to be happy if he isn't absolutely buried on the depth chart. He didn't actually confirm any Barcelona interest, nor hint to the fact that Chelsea want to sell.

I've personally got my fingers crossed that Barca do, in fact, have interest, as the last 2 1/2 seasons have me wanting a fresh start for mostly personal reasons. Regardless of whether or not Torres is playing well or playing poorly, he's become such a divisive figure with the fans that I'd much prefer to start fresh with someone else. Just the mention or Fernando Torres often turns the comment sections here at WAGNH into a incomprehensible disaster, and I could live without ever seeing another Torres comment section again. That said, be nice. Thanks.
