I touched on this a little bit earlier, but since everyone's making a big deal of things, there are some interesting quotes regarding Edinson Cavani's eventual destination. According to his father, the Napoli frontman wants to join Real Madrid:
Cavani's intention is to play for Madrid. He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through.
He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli.

This is being framed, of course, as ' Cavani would turn down a move to the Premier League this summer in favour of joining Real Madrid' (that's a direct quote from the Telegraph's sub-heading). But the reality is nowhere near that clear cut.
Cavani has his pick of destinations this summer, of course -- assuming everyone is willing to pay his buyout clause. Since, so far, zero teams have been willing to pay his buyout clause, his options are somewhat more limited. Essentially, it only matters where Cavani wants to go (and I don't blame him for favouring the Santiago Bernabeu; he'd look amazing in white) if they're one of the teams who activates his buyout clause.
Unless Napoli do some uncharacteristic blinking, this isn't a race for Cavani's signature. Even Cavani senior acknowledges that, saying, "It's not just up to Edi. They are talking about 65million euros and Napoli won't negotiate for any less."
In other words, while Cavani might prefer a move to Real Madrid, he'll probably end up going to whomever pays his release clause, no matter his personal preference. Money is money, after all.
