Five minutes ago I was typing a post about how tired I was with the ongoing Andre Schurrle transfer saga. All I really wanted to see today was for it to conclude one way or the other. Just like that, Chelsea issued the following statement:
Chelsea Football Club and Bayer 04 Leverkusen have reached an agreement for the transfer of André Schürrle, subject to the completion of legal documentation and related matters, including personal terms and passing a medical.
Schurrle has been pushing for the move for the better part of two seasons, so I'd assume agreeing personal terms will not be a big issue. Most reports indicate they've already been agreed anyway, so it may be just a mere formality at this point.
At this point, I'm thrilled we can focus on what Schurrle brings to the table and forget about Bayer Leverkusen's front office. Welcome to Chelsea, Andre; it's great to finally have this done.
