Bild have just run an article claiming that a deal that will send Kevin De Bruyne to Borussia Dortmund on a permanent basis for a relatively low fee. It's not particularly believable, but they ran it nonetheless. According to Bild:
For Midfield are three new stars on the list. Denmark's Christian Eriksen (21) is eligible for around 15 million euros from Ajax Amsterdam. Kevin de Bruyne (21/an Bremen on loan) also costs 15 million - a deal with Chelsea is imminent. This is also the deal with Brazil flea Bernard (20/Atletico Mineiro) on the home straight - for the dribbler 12 million will be due.
I'm sure that Dortmund do indeed have some interest, but I have a hard time believing that Chelsea would be rushing to complete a deal for the fee Bild is reporting. Actually, I have a hard time believing that Chelsea would even consider selling him at that price, as his value is certainly considerably higher than that.
Eartlier in the week, we had reports that I'd call far more reliable claiming Jose Mourinho would be deciding the fate of Kevin De Bruyne personally. We've also heard repeatedly this spring that Chelsea had no interest in selling, despite the reports out of the German media. Today's report would seem to contradict everything we've heard*, so I find it hard to put too much into it.
*As well as common sense
Unless something has come up with one of Dortmund's top players (I'm looking at Mats Hummels or Robert Lewandowski here), I think it's pretty safe to chalk this one up as garbage. Still, Bild wrote it and twitter is abuzz about it, so it's probably worth taking the time to point out exactly how stupid the rumor is.
