Chelsea and Andre Schurrle continue to be linked to each other, with the German club confirming several ties that the clubs have been continuing negotiations to bring the attacker to London. Today we have some new quotes, this time from Schurrle's agent. Ingo Haspel had the following to say about the ongoing negotiations:
'I am waiting for information from either Leverkusen or Chelsea, but there could be some positive news by the end of this weekend.'
'It is an indication of how much Chelsea want the player that they are continuing to negotiate.'
Haspel is indeed the agent of Andre Schurrle if transfermarkt is up to date, so he really should be in the know as far as what is going on with these negotiations. If Haspel thinks we'll be hearing that a deal will be finalized soon, I'd guess we'll probably be hearing that a deal has been finalized very soon.
I'm still holding out hope that this deal doesn't include a loan for Kevin De Bruyne, as I'd love for the new manager to have a chance to look at him this summer before any decision is reached. Here's hoping the club feel the same way, or that De Bruyne doesn't want to commit t another loan before getting a shot at making the Chelsea squad.
