Chelsea fans’ preferred lineup against Middlesbrough: Madueke ahead of Sterling, Mudryk

Middlesbrough vs. Chelsea, League Cup semifinal: Preferred lineup

The people have spoken, and there was little doubt about their preference in 9 of the 11 starting positions for tonight’s League Cup semifinal against Middlesbrough, earning at least a 75% supermajority of the WAGNH Community’s vote.

The only two of the starting XI to not reach that mark were Noni Madueke, at 70% and Enzo Fernández, at 60%. But they still beat out both Raheem Sterling (53%) and Mykhailo Mudryk (54%), which I suppose may be a bit surprising, especially in the case of Sterling, who finished third in the player ratings vote over the weekend. But Madueke’s been a man in form, and it’s nice to see that rewarded as well.

There was little room for rotation elsewhere — Gilchrist got 36% — so hopefully fatigue doesn’t become too much of an issue.

4-2-3-1 (79%)
Petrović (97%) | Colwill (91%), Silva (79%), Disasi (77%), Gusto (92%) | Caicedo (79%), Enzo (60%) | Madueke (70%), Gallagher (85%), Palmer (85%) | Broja (88%)
