Chelsea fans’ preferred lineup against Preston North End: Alfie Gilchrist to start

Chelsea vs. Preston North End, FA Cup: Preferred lineup

The third round of the FA Cup is usually a good opportunity for a bit of squad rotation, but our options at the moment are somewhat limited in that regard.

And so, unsurprisingly, the WAGNH Community’s preferred lineup isn’t all that different than what we might expect in any other game.

One thing that is different however is the start for Alfie Gilchrist, who’s impressed in both of his brief cameos so far in senior football. He can play center or right — the latter in case Malo Gusto needs to start on the left, where he’s deputized before during matches.

Ian Maatsen received the fifth-most votes among defenders, but he does beat out the likes of Enzo and Cole Palmer to get the nod in attack, where Armando Broja gets the nod from the voters alongside Noni Madueke and Misha Mudryk,

4-2-3-1 (74%)
Petrović (90%) | Gusto (75%), Colwill (89%), Disasi (78%), Gilchrist (68%) | Caicedo (69%), Gallagher (61%) | Mudryk (67%), Maatsen (63%), Madueke (79%) | Broja (68%)

Both Enzo Fernández and Christopher Nkunku got over 50% of the vote, but didn’t quite manage to crack the starting XI. Palmer and Raheem Sterling are both in the 40s, while Andrey Santos got 33%.
