Congrats, lads!

Cole Palmer and Đorđe Petrović have been central to Chelsea’s improved fortunes over the festive period — fourth-best record in the league over that short spell! — and now they’ve been recognized with nominations for the Premier League’s monthly awards for December.

Palmer is among the eight nominees for Player of the Month while Petrović has a nomination for Save of the Month.

Palmer is our second PotM nominee this season, after Raheem Sterling was recognized for his goals in November. But Palmer’s stepped up a notch in December, with a whopping four goals and two assists to his name in six appearances. The 21-year-old also leads the team in both goals (with eight) and assists (with six) this season (in all competitions).

He’s up against Trent Alexander-Arnold, Son Heung-min, Mohammed Kudus, Michael Olise, Matheus Cunha, Marcos Senesi, and former Chelsea youth goal machine Dominic Solanke, who, at 26, has truly found his shooting boots at Premier League level now as well (he had six goals last month and has twelve for the season).

Vote for Cold Palmer here.

Petrović is also our second nominee this season for Save of the Month, following Robert Sánchez, who won it for September. Petrović’s save might be just as impressive however, coming against Luton Town in their furious comeback in our 3-2 win there last week.

Vote for Petr-Čech-ović here. These are all good saves, so we might as well make it a popularity contest.
