It’s an even shorter turnaround for Chelsea this time, from Wednesday night to Saturday noon, but thankfully we do get a couple fresh legs back as Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer return from their suspensions.
And that’s especially welcome news as Mykhailo Mudryk seemed to have departed with a knock from Wednesday’s game — status unknown at the moment — while Christopher Nkunku’s minutes continue to be managed very closely. There were stray reports of Roméo Lavia picking up a knock as well in his long-awaited debut for the club.
Presumably, none of those who missed out Wednesday will have recovered in this short time, including Enzo Fernández who’s set to miss a third game on the bounce, while others like Reece James and Ben Chilwell continue to deal with long-term injuries.
In addition to the goalkeeper, Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Malo Gusto, Conor Gallagher, and Nicolas Jackson have started both of our games earlier this week, with Gallagher and Disasi playing every minute.
