Chelsea fans’ preferred lineup against Crystal Palace: Nkunku to start, Maatsen, too!

Much like for the head coach himself, while we might want to substitute this entire bunch after yet another tragic performance, we’re limited by injuries, suspensions, and just the practical matter of having these players and only these players to choose from.

But with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer suspended, we might have to get something different by definition — just as in the preferred lineup voting, as tomorrow from Pochettino.

We’re especially limited in midfield options at the moment (in addition to full back as usual), but thankfully Moisés Caicedo should be fit to play, so he slots back in. Meanwhile, at the back, Benoît Badiashile’s drop in form has seen him drop out of favor with the voters and to the bottom of the center back pecking order.

But ideally the most impactful change will be at the top, where Christopher Nkunku gets the starting nod for the first time from the voters; hopefully Poch follows suit. And in a surprising move, Ian Maatsen just (by less than a handful of votes) edges out Nicolas Jackson for the fourth attacking spot. I doubt that’ll happen in reality, but you never know!

4-2-3-1 (57%)
Petrović (99%) | Colwill (81%), Silva (67%), Disasi (69%), Gusto (94%) | Caicedo (70%), Gallagher (97%) | Mudryk (95%), Maatsen (57%), Madueke (81%) | Nkunku (93%)
