Chelsea confirm 2021-22 Premier League squad

Officially official until at least January

The Premier League is set to resume this weekend, and as this is the first matchday since the end of the transfer window, it’s now also time to finalize the squads for all the teams.

And so, just as we had with the Champions League squad, we have officially registered the trio of Ross Barkley, Lewis Baker, and Malang Sarr after they had failed to secure moves away from the club. Just as with the UEFA list, we had room in the Premier League list for the trio.

The only difference between the two lists is that the Premier League doesn’t make a distinction between “club-trained” and “association-trained” players, so we just have 10 homegrown (must be a record since these rules came into force, no?) and 15 non-homegrown players.

non-HG (15): Alonso, Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Havertz, Kanté, Kovačić, Mendy, Pulisic, Rüdiger, Sarr, Saúl, Silva, Werner, Ziyech

homegrown (10): Baker, Barkley, Bettinelli, Chalobah, Chilwell, Christensen, James, Loftus-Cheek, Lukaku, Mount

current U21 list (2): Bergström, Hudson-Odoi
