Jorginho wants to continue trophy ‘addiction’, expects Lukaku to ‘contribute a lot’ to it

Jorginho has unveiled an ... interesting ... new hair style on the eve of the new Premier League season (and convinced Thiago Silva to join him on the white hair banter-bus, too), but his judgement remains sound when talking about the aims for next season.

You see, Jorginho’s got a fever, and the only cure is more trophies!

“My focus is to keep winning these titles. It’s something gratifying and addictive. The Ballon d’Or, I don’t even comment. There’s nothing to comment. It’s just about working on the pitch, lifting trophies and taking medals home. My focus is on that.”

As far as vices go, being addicted to winning and trophies is certainly not a bad one.

One massive enabler (in a very good way) for this addiction should be Romelu Lukaku, whose arrival return is imminent. Jorginho expects him to be a key contributor, if and when it does happen.

“A player like Lukaku, who has been having great seasons and was a champion in Italy, is certainly a player who would contribute a lot. Any player who adds value [to the team] would be worth it. Let’s see what happens next.”
