Chelsea had several players and coaches nominated for UEFA seasonal awards this year, which was only fitting considering that the women’s team reached the final of the 2020-21 Champions League and the men’s team won the whole thing!
And a few of those nominees have now added these individual awards to their personal trophy cabinets as well.
Those winners include Edouard Mendy (Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year), N’Golo Kanté (Men’s Midfielder of the Year), Jorginho (Men’s Player of the Year) and Thomas Tuchel (Men’s Coach of the Year).
He conquered Europe twice. Bravo, Jorginho - UEFA Men's Player of the Year! #UEFAawards | #UCLdraw | @ChelseaFC pic.twitter.com/7sBtw8A4wy

Unfortunately, both Antonio Rüdiger and César Azpilicueta were snubbed for Men’s Defender of the Year (went to Ruben Dias instead, last seen falling down as Kai Havertz scored the winner in Porto), as were all our women’s nominated players.
On the coaching side, Emma Hayes was snubbed in favor of Barcelona’s Lluis Cortes — Barca made a clean sweep of the women’s awards in fact — but Thomas Tuchel did collect his well-earned recognition.
Congrats, all!
A #UCL winner with Chelsea just 4 months after being appointed, Thomas Tuchel is the UEFA Men's Coach of the Year! #UEFAawards | #UCLdraw | @ChelseaFC pic.twitter.com/tE1atnxrTD
