Chelsea drawn against Aston Villa in League Cup third round

The season’s set to start truly ramping up after we return from the two-week international break that starts after the weekend, as we add in midweek matches in both the Champions League and the Carabao Cup (i.e. League Cup). The draw for the former is tomorrow, but the draw for the latter was held just a short while ago.

Unfortunately, we did not manage to avoid Premier League opposition. Fortunately, we do at least get a home match to be played on either Tuesday (Sep 21) or Wednesday (Sep 22), sandwiched between our trip away to Spurs (Sunday, Sep 19) and our home game against Manchester City (Saturday, Sep 25).

Incidentally, we will also play Villa immediately after the international break in the league (Sep 11), also at home.
