Trevoh Chalobah has been the homegrown breakout star of the summer, and it would appear that we’re not the only ones impressed.
According to Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella, Chalobah has been taken off the “loan list” at Thomas Tuchel’s behest, and is instead set for contract extension talks. The 22-year-old has two years left on the contract he signed last summer, just before going to Lorient in France on the third and evidently last of his three loan stints in the Loan Army.
Chalobah has garnered plenty of loan interest this summer as well, and he had also been linked with more permanent moves to the likes of West Brom after hinting at being done with the loan limbo, but fortunately it looks like this situation will have a much more happy resolution for us. We have plenty of contract extensions to take care of, but ideally we won’t have to wait too long for this one.
Trevoh has started each of our first two games this season, playing every minute and even scoring a wonderful goal over the weekend on his Premier League debut. Hopefully we’ll see many more such emotional scenes at the Bridge with Chalobah in Chelsea blue.
