‘TA9 out’: Tammy Abraham says goodbye to Chelsea family, friends, fans

Time to say goodbye ... for now

Tammy Abraham was officially announced and unveiled at AS Roma this morning, joining in a big-money move after spending practically the entire second half of last season on the bench and overlooked at Chelsea.

In theory, this should be a fantastic move for all parties involved, with a reasonable transfer fee, a great opportunity for Tammy, and we even get a buyback!

It’s still a slightly heart-breaking end to Abraham’s time at Chelsea, from the under-8 level to the top of Europe in sixteen years. But perhaps our paths will not only cross but join up again at some point in the future, with many more trophies awaiting us all.

Until then, best of the bestest of luck, Tammy! Go on and smash it in Italy!

“It’s time to say goodbye to a club that means so much to me and my family.

“From playing at the academy as a young kid from Peckham to winning the Champions League all those years later…

“I want to say thank you to my teammates, The Academy, all of the staff and of course, the Chelsea fans who have always supported me.

“Wouldn’t be who I am today without you guys.Bring more trophies home boys!Love you all x

There is a lovely video attached to the message as well, which you should watch.

Warning: it could get emotional.
