How should Chelsea line up against Crystal Palace to begin the Premier League season?

It’s a mondo sized list of names to choose from today, with an abundance of first-teamers, fringe players, loanees, and youths theoretically available for selection. We don’t have to finalize the 25-man squad registration list until the end of the month (which means shirt numbers aren’t set yet either) and with many players still short of match fitness, perhaps we could see some surprises for Saturday’s game.

Alonso, Rüdiger, Kovačić, Chalobah, and Havertz all played 120 minutes on Wednesday, while Hudson-Odoi, Zouma, Werner, Kanté, Jorginho, Mount, Christensen, and Pulisic all played at least 60. The only ones not involved at all from the bench were James, Chilwell, Abraham, Loftus-Cheek, Emerson, and Thiago Silva. Abraham’s situation is complicated by his impending exit while new arrival Romelu Lukaku is not expected to play though he technically would be allowed to.

While unconfirmed, Hakim Ziyech will surely miss this game after appearing to dislocate his shoulder in the Super Cup.

So, who knows what Tuchel will do. He already admitted that he sacrificed fitness concerns to secure the win on Wednesday.

What would you do? Choose wisely.
