1. KEPA ARRIZABALAGA (9.0, sub)

WAGNH Community Player Ratings are back for the tenth (10th!) season, and we begin things with something we haven’t seen in them before, a substitute goalkeeper winning Man of the Match! In terms of minutes-to-impact, Kepa’s performance may be unrivaled in fact — some might say nearly as perfect as Papy Djilobodji’s one-minute cameo against Walsall, even!

In all seriousness, Kepa’s heroics in the penalty shootout made this night and this trophy a memorable occasion, most certainly set to live long in Chelsea lore.

2. TREVOH CHALOBAH (8.0)

First-team debuts from one of our own don’t come much better than Chalobah’s 120-minute excellence on the right side of the three-man backline, with the 22-year-old showing that he’s every bit as capable as we expected him to be on the back of three successful loans. Whether that earns him a spot in the first-team for this season remains to be seen, but hopefully this isn’t the only time we’ll get to see him excel in a Chelsea shirt.

3. HAKIM ZIYECH (7.9)

The Wizard of AMS wasn’t quite as magical last season as we had hoped and expected him to be — at least not consistently — but he had a good preseason and was fantastic in this game ... until just before the half, when he picked up a most unfortunate shoulder injury (dislocation?), which appears to be fairly serious and could rule him out for a while. Chelsea looked much worse after he was forced off the pitch, and not just because of fitness levels.
