Following a solid season with Accrington Stanley at League One, Chelsea goalkeeper Nathan Baxter will be taking a step up in the 2021-22 season by joining Championship side Hull City on a season-long loan deal.

Nathan’s career and loan moves have been a rather interesting development to follow, with the young shot-stopper starting out at the seventh level of the English football league pyramid with Metropolitan Police F.C. and moving up the ranks until reaching Accrington Stanley at League One. And he did pretty well while defending the Stans with seven clean sheets recorded in 16 league appearances for the club.
The 22-year-old will be joining last season’s League One champions, with manager Grant McCann very excited with being able to acquire their primary target for the goalkeeper position in the market.
“I’m very pleased to get Nathan in on a season-long loan. Nathan’s been our number one target and he made it very clear to me after our initial conversation that Hull City was where he wanted to come.
“He’s had a great upbringing and has progressed with each loan he’s had and comes to us with a great drive and determination to show what he’s about. He’s a very ambitious lad and he’s rated very highly at Chelsea, so we are delighted to get the deal done.”

Thus far the only way for Baxter was up. May he continue doing so at the Championship, so we can see him impressing Premier League spectators beginning next season.
Good luck, Nathan!
