Chelsea are apparently in the market for a midfield reinforcement this summer, and the latest one to join the wish-list is Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli, as per Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italy international’s terrific form as of late has piqued the interest of big clubs in Europe, with the PSG, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, as well as Chelsea all keeping an eye on his situation.

Locatelli seemingly favors staying in Italy, and is pushing for a move to Juventus, with the Old Lady ready to offer €30m, plus Radu Dragusin — or even other counterparts — as per Goal, Gianluca Di Marzio and Tuttosport (via Football Italia). Sassuolo are said to value their rising star at €40m for the time being, and are likely to reject Juventus’ proposal, with the latter wishing to get a deal done as soon as possible in light of the rising competition for his signature.

Another midfielder that has entered Chelsea’s rumor mill in the past week is Jude Bellingham, although his name has frequently featured in our rumor mills in the past. According to Goal, Bellingham is a long-term target of the club, and while there are no immediate plans to sign him, are hoping that their efforts in building relationships relating to Haaland can ultimately allow them to win the longer-term race for the 17-year-old wonderkid. Bellingham will sign a new contract until 2025 once he turns 18.

However, Chelsea are likely to lose out on Eduardo Camavinga’s signing, with the France U21 international harboring hopes of signing for PSG, as per L’Equipe (via Diario AS). While PSG have softened their interest following Gini Wijnaldum’s arrival, they’re still expected to make a bid later on in the window, with Rennes valuing the 18-year-old at €50m.

On the outgoing side, Chelsea have seemingly offered Mateo Kovacic to Inter Milan, as per Corriere dello Sport. The Blues are willing to include Kovacic as a makeweight in the Achraf Hakimi deal, and Inter are evaluating the offer owing to Christian Eriksen’s current situation. While Inter could be satisfied with a loan deal for Kovacic, they prefer Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who would be a like-for-like replacement, as per Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, Lazio still remain the frontrunners for Loftus-Cheek’s signature, who see the Englishman as the first-choice target to reinforce the midfield. The Serie A side have already established contacts to sign the 25-year-old on loan, as per Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness).
