One of the Chelsea’s most experienced and one Chelsea’s least experienced players are both hoping to get the nod from their national team coaches today, on the fourth day of Euro 2020.
First up, Billy the Kid Gilmour will be looking for some minutes for Scotland against the Czech Republic. Steve Clarke, Chelsea legend and current Scotland head coach hasn’t exactly given too many hints that Gilmour would see a big role at the tournament, but hopefully he will change his mind.
SCOTLAND vs. CZECH REPUBLIC

Venue: Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland
Referee: Daniel Siebert (GER)
On TV: BBC One (UK); ESPN (USA); elsewhere

The second match of the day doesn’t have any direct Chelsea involvement, but it does feature my native land, for whatever that’s worth. Marek Hamšík, now back in Europe from China, is still going strong at 33, but it’s unclear who can score on this team at all. That’s certainly not a problem for Poland, with Robert Lewandowski leading the line.
POLAND vs. SLOVAKIA

Venue: Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg, Russia
Referee: Ovidiu Hategan (ROM)
On TV: ITV 1 (UK); ESPN (USA); elsewhere
Streaming online: ITV Hub (UK); ESPN+, PrendeTV (USA)
Lastly, we have Spain, who have survived their COVID-scare from last week and didn’t need to call on the replacements, taking on Sweden, who might not have Zlatan but still shouldn’t be underestimated. Hoping Azpilicueta gets to play.
