1. KAI HAVERTZ (8.8)
Every time Havertz does something great, it’s billed as his “welcome to” moment. Welcome Chelsea; welcome to the Premier League! Hopefully he will keep doing great things, so we can move past these constant welcomes and into the actual here and now.
Havertz’s first season may not have lived up to the hype and the expectations, but he’s still got eight goals with an equal number of assists and a decent chance to hit double digits in both categories before the end of the season.
2. ÉDOUARD MENDY (8.4)
Quite the opposite case with Mendy from Havertz, with the (relatively inexperienced) 29-year-old settling in very quickly and getting down to the business of solidifying the position. He had already done that to a great extent under Lampard, but his numbers under Tuchel, who’s setting all sorts of defensive records, have been truly spectacular.
Only Manchester City’s Ederson has more clean sheets (24) than Mendy (23) in all competitions in any of Europe’s top divisions, and Chelsea as a team have hit 30 with this win, the first in Europe this season to do so.
3. MASON MOUNT (8.4)
Not much more left to say about Mason Mount at this point — this is his 20th appearance in the top three, seven more than anyone else on the team (Kanté) — so let’s just enjoy a touches compilation from this game.
